摘要: Receptive vocabulary is an important aspect of cognitive functioning. It appears to be a relative strength with respect language for individuals Down syndrome (DS) but little known about its development as mature. This study was designed establish the developmental trajectory receptive in DS from early childhood midadulthood. Two hundred and six provided Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT) scores on 957 occasions, spanning ages 2 years 7 months 29 months. Latent growth curve models were used vocabulary. Gender, maternal education, cohort, nonverbal intellectual ability predictors rate development. found increase until around 20 age when performance PPVT began deteriorate. The only variable measured that associated ability. across adolescent period slower than those who are developing typically, expected influence education not found. small number participants contributing data older included this means apparent decline needs interpreted cautiously.
