摘要: Abstract A mixture of tannins (hydrolysable and non-hydrolysable) obtained from the bark Anacardium occidentale L., on i.p. injection, demonstrated apparent anti-inflammatory activity in carrageenan- dextran-induced rat paw oedemas, cotton pellet granuloma test adjuvant-induced polyarthritis rats. At higher doses orally administered also had carrageenan oedema adjuvant arthritis experiments. The inhibited acetic acid-induced “writhing responses” mice were found to antagonise permeability-increasing effects rats certain mediators inflammation inhibit migration leucocytes an inflammatory site. While not appearing act by release adrenal hormones, may produce a non-specific manner their astringent properties cell membranes thus affecting functions. above results should be considered while studying actions plant extracts which contain tannins.
