摘要: Background The aim of this project is to examine the potential connection between astigmatic refractive corrections subjects using computers and their productivity comfort. We hypothesize that improving visual status results in greater productivity, as well improved Methods Inclusion criteria required 19 30 years age with complete vision examinations before being enrolled. Using a double-masked, placebo-controlled, randomized design, completed three experimental tasks calculated assess effects error on (time completion number errors) at computer. resembled those commonly undertaken by computer users involved search of: (1) counties populations; (2) nonsense word search; (3) modified text-editing task. Results Estimates for time varied from minimum 2.5% upwards 28.7% 2 D cylinder miscorrection. Assuming conservative estimate an overall increase appropriate correction, our data suggest favorable cost-benefit ratio least 2.3 correction employee (total cost $268) salary $25,000 per year. Conclusions conclude affected both comfort under conditions experiment. These also employers who provide computer-specific eyewear employees.
