摘要: Amebiasis, an invasive enteric protozoal infection that can spread to multiple organ systems, is a major public health problem. It caused by the cytolytic parasite Entamoeba histolytica. has worldwide distribution, one estimate indicating 480 million people carry in their intestinal tracts. Serological investigations suggest approximately one-tenth of total infected population, i.e., 48 annually, invaded mucosa or liver (122). The great interest parasitologists, microbiologists, immunologists, pathologists, clinicians, and biochemists resulted voluminous literature. Despite such interest, complicated host-parasite relation, immunological responses, effective immunoprophylaxis have not yet been elucidated.
