摘要: We studied the influence of extra-pair paternity on heritability estimates morphological traits in a population Medium Ground Finch (Geospiza fortis) Isla Daphne Major, Galapagos. Data from eight microsatellite loci were used to determine parentage. Six measured each finch represented by two separate principal components analyses, one for three bill measurements and body size measurements. Heritabilities calculated using weighted regressions offspring their parents also grandparents. found that 20% all young but matched mothers. derived midparent-offspring high significantly different zero. Removing data set increased father-offspring an average 21%, mother-offspring resemblance still exceeded up 42%. These results grandparent-offspring provide evidence maternal effects, comparable magnitude those reported other studies wild birds.
