摘要: LBNL is using pressurized bladders in its high field superconducting magnet program Magnet RD3; a 14 T race track dipole, has been assembled and pre-stressed such system. The bladder, placed between the coil pack iron yoke, can provide 70 MPa of pressure while compressing tensioning 40 mm thick structural aluminum shell. Interference keys replace bladder's functionality as they are deflated removed leaving shell 140 tension. During cool down, stress increases to 250 result difference thermal expansion inner yoke. A number strain gauges mounted onto were used monitor during assembly, cool-down testing. This technique ensures that final maximum reached before ever energized. use simplified assembly considerably. In this paper we describe bladder system Nb/sub 3/Sn magnet.
