摘要: Biosynthesis of tocols (vitamin E isoforms) is linked to response temperature in plants. ‘Evolution Canyon’, an ecogeographical microcosm extending over average 200 meters (range 100–400) wide area the Carmel Mountains northern Israel, has been suggested as a model for studying global warming. Both domestic (Hordeum vulgare) and wild spontaneum) barley compared with wheat, oat, corn, rice, rye show high tocotrienol/tocopherol ratios. Therefore, we hypothesized that tocol distribution might change α-, β-, γ-, δ-tocopherol, δ-tocotrienol concentrations were measured (H. seeds harvested from xeric (African) mesic (European) slopes Evolution Canyon six-year period 2005–2011. Additionally, examined areas contiguous distant part severely burned during Fire December 2010. Increased α-tocotrienol (p<0.01) was correlated 1) increases, 2) hotter ‘African’ slope contrast cooler ‘European’ slope, 3) propinquity fire. The study illustrates role both chronic acute adaptation suggests future research into thermoregulatory mechanisms
