摘要: Gentamicin resistance in Klebsiella pneumoniae involved an outbreak at the Minneapolis Veterans Administration Hospital was due to a transmissible R plasmid. In addition gentamicin, this plasmid conferred tobramycin, kanamycin, ampicillin, carbenicillin, cephalothin, chloramphenicol, and sulfathiazole. plasmids which transferred complex antibiogram were identified several clinical isolates, including four different serotypes of K. pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Enterobacter cloacae , Proteus morganii . The covalently closed circular form all isolated had sedimentation coefficient 76S 77S, corresponding molecular weight 58 × 10 6 possibility that single responsible for dissemination multiple drug among these strains examined by characterizing using Eco RI restriction endonuclease. same 15 fragments obtained from each analyzed. Their weights ranged 4 5 11 Thus, we conclude present various hospital over 7-month period originated common source transfer important their spread.
