摘要: Three years of field data in northeastern Nebraska demonstrate that a grain sorghum crop reduces weediness the following year. Weed growth was consistently lower areas year after strip-cropping fields with sequences four-row bands sorghum, soybeans, and corn. Percentage weed cover significantly early year, midsummer biomass well below found corn soybeans. June July two to four times strips. Inhibitory effects were primarily on broadleaf weeds, often showing no action grass weeds. No obvious differences noted species present three crops. Allelopathy provides logical explanation for sorghum-mediated inhibition this study. The have implications management strategies agriculture.
