摘要: Echinococcus granulosus sensu stricto is a cosmopolitan parasite causing cystic echinococcosis in humans and livestock. Recent molecular phylogeographic studies suggested the rapid dispersal of by anthropogenic movement domestic animal hosts. In present study, genetic polymorphism E. s. Middle East, where domestication started, was investigated to validate history parasite. Thirty-five 26 hydatid cysts were collected from Iran Jordan, respectively, mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (cox1) gene sequenced. Chinese Peruvian specimens also analyzed for comparison. Haplotype network analysis demonstrated existence common haplotype EG01 all populations. Although its one-step neighbors majority regions, most neighboring haplotypes unique each locality. diversity high but nucleotide low Iran, Jordan China. Both diversities lowest only few found Peru. Neutrality indices significantly negative China, positive not significant Pairwise fixation index pairwise comparisons, indicating differentiation among These results suggest evolutionary which subgroup including selected at dawn domestication, then it rapidly dispersed worldwide through diffusion stock raising. To approach origin ancestral strain, extensive sampling needed many endemic regions. evaluate hypothetical scenario, further study analyze diverse host species wider
