摘要: 1. This study tested two hypotheses: (1) that episodic hypoxia elicits long-term facilitation (LTF) in respiratory neurons is manifest as an increase ventilation awake goats; and (2) LTF causes complex changes pattern which are responsible for the ventilation. 2. Each goat participated protocols. In first, inspired gas mixtures were alternated between isocapnic normoxia (arterial partial pressure of oxygen, Pa,O2 = 47 mmHg) ten cycles. hypoxic episode lasted 3 min normoxic intervals 5 min. Ventilatory variables measured during last minute each periodically up to 1 h following episode. The second, sham protocol was undertaken at least 2 weeks later identical except replaced with normoxia. 3. Inspired (VI) increased first reached progressively higher levels subsequent episodes. VI also among intervals, such by tenth interval, it had 68% relative comparable value (P < 0.05). Respiratory frequency (FR), tidal volume mean inspiratory flow all contributed augmented both hypoxia. 40 after final episode, FR making greatest contribution. persistent strongly suggests goat. Complex underpin ventilatory manifestation LTF.
