摘要: Diamond-based electrodes promise major advantages over present electrode technologies used in biomedical research. To demonstrate these advantages, boron-doped diamond microelectrodes were developed for vitro detection of adenosine, an important neuromodulator the central nervous system. Diamond was selectively deposited as part a unique fabrication strategy to obtain non-planar, needle-like microelectrodes. Preliminary flow injection analysis showed quantified adenosine down 10 nM, lower level than estimated basal vivo, and what is achieved on other materials. As example application, probe investigate role respiratory rhythmogenesis (i.e., modulation one's breathing rate).
