摘要: Acoustic communication is central to many social interactions between family members. Whilst song and begging calls have been extensively studied, in this review, I focus on familial where acoustic plays a critical role, but yet has often overlooked. show that considering information transfer challenges the traditional views sexual parent-offspring conflicts. In particular, firstly discuss role of breeding partners parental care negotiation coordination. consider potential for vocalisations signal partners’ state, terms current satiation or energy levels during provisioning. Secondly, review occurrence parent-embryo highlight possibility developmental programming facilitate co-adaptation offspring provisioning capacities. also how available avian embryos from environment may empower them direct their development, independently parents. Thirdly, bring together evidence sib-sib before after birth, its function sibling cooperation hatching synchronisation resource partitioning. Overall, synthesis demonstrates importance understand evolution cooperation.
