摘要: We compared the severity of insect problems in early and conventional soybean, Glycine max (L.) Merrill, production systems mid-South. The soybean system (cultivars maturity groups V–VII planted May) experienced significantly higher populations late-season defoliators than group IV April). However, harbored larger southern green stink bug, Nezara viridula threecornered alfalfa hopper, Spissistilus festinus (Say). Predators were more abundant with system, growing season. Late season, predator lower both productions differences between two not significant. results from current study illustrated benefits early-planted early-maturing cultivars (early system) avoiding lepidopterous coleopterous that occur late our data also indicate arthropod management will be essential because widespread use this result an abundance suitable hosts for early-season pests.
