The effect of early burn wound excision on regional gastric blood flow in rats

摘要: This study examined the effects of early burn wound excision on gastric blood flow and morphologic changes in mucosal vessels. Wistar rats were given a 30% total body surface area divided into four groups, consisting control animals (group 1), with injury without fluid resuscitation (groups 2 3, respectively), both 4). Gastric (GMBF) was measured by hydrogen gas clearance method up to 24 h post-burn. Morphologic vessels scanning electron microscopy (SEM) at 3 The GMBF sharply decreased acute period after burn. In group 4, however, it recovered initial value 6 post-burn there no significant change throughout experiment.
