Primary and ultimate biodegradabilities of mineral base oils and their relationships with oil viscosity

摘要: We have determined the primary and ultimate biodegradabilities of a series paraffinic base oils representative main classes that are used for production lubricating oils, such as engine, industrial, marine oils. Primary biodegrability (B) data were using CEC test modified Sturm (OECD 301B), respectively. There was strong relationship between two B values. For given oil, biodegradation in logically lower than by test. The values mineral compared to oil (kinematic) viscosities (KV) known affect significantly biodegradability. Both linearly related log(KV).
