Design and Test of 40-kV/2-kA DC Superconducting Fault Current Limiter

摘要: In this article, a general scheme of 40-kV/2-kA resistive type dc superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) is suggested, which could be utilized to suppress the surge caused by short-circuit faults in voltage-source-converter HVdc (VSC-HVdc) power grids. This SFCL designed and fabricated with 6 coil modules parallel 4 series. order investigate current-limiting performance under rapidly rising current, tested on platform pulsed impact generator. Besides property limitation, capacity, insulation quench recovery such are also tested. Results indicate that critical larger than 2050 A at 69 K, withstand voltage 74 kV 2 h. During 9-kV test, limited 8842 A, time less 200 ms.
