The Eviction of Critical Perspectives from Gentrification Research

摘要: Recent years have seen an extraordinary resurgence of interest in the process gentrification, accompanied by a surge articles published on topic. This article looks at some recent literature — both scholarly and popular considers reasons why often highly critical perspectives gentrification that we saw earlier decades dwindled. Whilst number could be put forward, three particular are discussed. First, resilience theoretical ideological squabbles over causes expense examining its effects; second, demise displacement as defining feature research question; third, pervasive influence neoliberal urban policies ‘social mix’ central city neighbourhoods.
