摘要: The roughness sublayer in a turbulent open-channel flow over very rough wall is investigated experimentally both within the canopy and above using particle image velocimetry by gaining complete optical access with new methodologies without disturbing flow. This enabled reliable estimates of double-averaged mean turbulence profiles to be obtained minimizing quantifying usual errors introduced limited temporal spatial sampling. It shown, for example, that poor sampling can lead erroneous vertical sublayer. Then, order better define determine height, methodology based on measured dispersion proposed which takes into account errors. results reveal values well below more ad hoc all statistics. Finally, statistics are discussed.
