摘要: ABSTRACT Introduction Advanced cancer is frequently complicated by malignant pleural effusion (MPE), which significantly reduces quality of life patients.MPE a very uncommon finding in patients with advancer colorectal ancer (CRC). There are several treatment options to treat MPE, including thoracentesis, placement long-term indwelling catheter, and talc pleurodesis. In any case, the goal achieve successful pleurodesis relief symptoms. Talc has long been considered be one safest, cheapest, most effective agents for promoting symphysis, although occurrence acute respiratory distress syndrome cases failure have reported. Medical Research Council (MRC) dyspnea score, Karnofsky performance index (KI) useful evaluating results. The purpose this study analyze usefulness poudrage advanced CRC symptomatic MPE. Methods Twelve (9 males, 3 females, median age 69 years, range 47-82) MPE related advanced CRC underwent video-assisted thoracoscopy (VATS) large-particle (mean size 25 µm) (Steritalc, Novatech, France) administered pneumatic atomizer. Patients pulmonary infection, unstable status, cardiac failure, trapped lung bad status (KI≤30) where excluded from study. were asked report their functional limitations filling MRC KI questionnaires before surgery at discharge. Overall, pre- postoperative score 60.1±12.2 vs. 72.3±13.2 (95% CI 1.4-22.96, p=0.028), 4.0±0.8 2.7±1.0 0.53-2.07, p=0.002), respectively. significant relationship between total amount preoperative both (R=-0.54, p=0.002) (R=0.64, p=0.0001) found. Conclusion VATS-assisted feasible improving CRC.
