摘要: Brain factor 1 (BF-1) is a winged-helix transcription with restricted expression in the anterior optic vesicle and telencephalic neuroepithelium of neural tube. We have previously found that targeted disruption BF-1 gene results hypoplasia cerebral hemispheres, which more severe structures derived from ventral telencephalon. Here we show loss leads to multiple developmental anomalies eyes. The most structure arising vesicle, stalk, missing replaced by an expanded retina. Ventral closure cup choroid fissure does not occur. These dorsal-ventral patterning defects are limited BF-1-expressing (anterior) cells, but also involve cells posterior vesicle. Sonic hedgehog (shh) within specifically lost BF-1(-/-) mutant. Taken together, these findings suggest shh produced at this site plays role developing eye. This localized deficit may contribute prominence telencephalon
