摘要: Abstract This study investigated the biological effects of various dietary essential fatty acids levels to sea scallop larvae, Placopecten magellanicus . Scallop larvae were fed three diets from D-veliger settlement. Diet A consisted Isochrysis sp. and Pavlova lutheri , diet B was a mix Chaetoceros muelleri C same two species, but C. grown under silicate deprivation alter acid composition. Pediveligers (28 days old) sampled prior settlement for analysis, growth measurement survival assessment. Survival success measured at end experiment (day 40). Our results show that feeding regime greatly influenced larval size, severely deficient in arachidonic (20:4n-6, AA), leading poorest growth, lipid content. Nevertheless, selectively accumulate AA by factor compared amount. Shell size 28-day-old positively correlated with content negatively eicosapentaenoic (20:5n-3, EPA)–AA ratio, thus suggesting these variables are major interest optimisation scallops. Finally, displayed 20% higher shell day 28 than B, likely relation amount saturated (SFA). However, moderate groups might be associated relative deficiency docosahexaenoic (22:6n-3, DHA). underlines overall balance between polyunsaturated (PUFA) needs considered adequately larvae.
