摘要: Styrene is found at high concentrations in many petrochemical wastewaters and, due to its toxicity, has be removed from these before their discharge. Biological treatment of using pure or mixed microbial cultures that remove styrene through biodegradation advantages compared physic-chemical processes. However, the growth most used previously for retarded relatively low concentration. In this study, by Rhodococcus erythropolis PTCC 1767 was considered. The effect initial biomass (X), range 0.31 gL−1 and 2.2 gL−1, exposure R. styrene-containing media–on kinetics studied. The results kinetic showed that, runs X = 2.2 data were satisfactorily fitted Monod model although Haldane gave a better fit all valu...
