摘要: Purpose To determine the relationship between accommodative lag and rate of myopia progression when Ghanaian myopic school children are either undercorrected or fully corrected with single vision lenses. Methods A 2-year masked randomized control trial was conducted using 150 aged 10 to 15 years mean baseline -1.98 ± 0.50D. The were randomly assigned wear a full correction (n = 75) +0.50D undercorrection (UC) Repeated measurements which included refractive error response at 33 28.6 cm for FC UC, respectively, performed Open-Field Autorefractor whereas ocular biometry results obtained A-Scan ultrasonography. Results based on right eye analyzed STATA 11. After 24 months, in group (-0.54 0.26D) not significantly different from that UC (-0.5 0.22D) (p 0.31). There no significant difference values initial near average measured months later both groups (FC: -0.74 0.17D, -0.72 0.15D, p 0.44; UC: -0.57 0.14D, -0.58 0.15D; 0.67). Also, there correlation change seen first (r -0.05, 0.43) -0.08, accommodation -0.02, 0.49) -0.04, 0.49). Conclusions This study showed progressing myopia. Different ethnic may respond differently same size hyperopic blur.
