Parental discussion of G6PD deficiency and child health: implications for clinical practice

摘要: Objective Parents are encouraged to discuss self-care with children affected by G6PD deficiency; however, little is known about the extent or impact of these discussions on physical and psychosocial health children. The purpose this study was examine nature parental–child deficiency their relationship child health. Methods A quantitative cross-sectional survey 178 Taiwanese parents conducted. assessed in regards coverage nine key topics. Parent9s status, knowledge haemolytic anaemia symptoms reported education from providers were examined as correlates parental discussion. Child questionnaire-parent form (Chinese version) a 13-item symptom list. Results Self-care positively correlated status (β=2.08, p=0.03), accurate identification (β=0.18, p=0.01), thoroughness clarity patient (β=0.14, p Conclusions Parental–child associated better health, involvement facilitated received providers.
