Micro-electro-mechanical switch (MEMS) display panel with on-glass column multiplexers using MEMS as mux elements

摘要: A display has an array of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Switches (MEMS) elements on a substrate such as glass. Rather than directly drive all columns the MEMS from off-substrate column drivers, mux logic is placed substrate. The uses contact-switch that have additional contact electrodes touch and make electrical connection when switch closed, but do not isolate each other open. Smaller data words successively loaded into stored by column-mux, which then drives array. smaller require fewer connections if were driven drivers. An intermediate holding voltage applied to store in mux. Off-substrate interconnect further reduced using on-substrate row-mux MEMS.
