The characterization of high-tech materials: Perspectives, challenges, trends

摘要: From the Stone Age on, developmental periods of mankind carry names materials. Materials determine applicability key technologies and these are in turn major significance for economic success social development modern society. Today's high-tech materials consequence an improved understanding structure composition matter interplay microstructure minor trace constituents. We can distinguish four basic dimensional structural categories materials: (a) atomic level; (b) crystal, glassy or amorphous (c) microstructural (d) level constructions. As example, levels described some detail graphite, a material used extensively throughout Analytical Chemistry. Decisive differences at result graphitic with very varying properties: polycrystalline electrographite, carbon, pyrolytic graphite. Examples use ETAAS discussed.
