摘要: Previous studies of decisions about forensic patients' placement in secure hospitals indicate some changes over time the use empirically supported risk factors. Our aim was to investigate whether, more recent cases, assessment instruments were cited by a patient review board or clinicians who made recommendations and whether there evidence an association between results either dispositions recommendations. Among hearings held 2009-2012 pertaining 63 different maximum security patients found not criminally responsible on account mental disorder Ontario, Canada, most strongly associated with psychiatrists' testimony, consistent previous studies. However, scores Violence Risk Appraisal Guide (VRAG), such that transferred had lower violent recidivism than detained patients. An clinical opinions also evident significantly larger research. There no selectively higher cases when concordant decision. This research may provide baseline for effect 2014 legislation introducing high-risk designation Canada. We recommend further efforts measure nonpharmacological treatment participation in-hospital decision-making. (PsycINFO Database Record
