摘要: GRUNEBERG1 has directed attention to two properties of inbred strains which should counsel caution in their use for some experimental purposes: (1) They cannot be relied upon remain constant heritable with the passage time, and may diverge quite rapidly when split up into separate sub-strains colonies. (2) do not constitute phenotypically uniform material, but may, on contrary, strikingly more variable than F 1 hybrids between strains.
