摘要: Molecular mimicry between streptococcal and human proteins is considered as the triggering factor leading to autoimmunity in rheumatic fever (RF) heart disease (RHD). Here, we present a review of genetic susceptibility markers involved development RF/RHD major immunopathological events underlying pathogenesis RF RHD. Several leucocyte antigen (HLA) class II alleles are associated with disease. Among these alleles, HLA-DR7 predominantly observed different ethnicities valvular lesions RHD patients. Cardiac myosin one autoantigens several peptides from LMM (light meromyosin) region were recognized by peripheral intralesional T-cell clones The production TNF-alpha IFN-gamma heart-infiltrating mononuclear cells suggests that Th-1 type cytokines mediators while presence few interleukin-4 producing valve tissue contributes maintenance progression lesions.
