ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF FLAVONOIDS FROM CYPERUS ROTUNDUS LINN. IN VIVO AND IN VITRO

摘要: Cyperus rotundus (Linn.) is an important medicinal plant belonging to family Cyperaceae. Four Flavonoids such as quercetin, kaempferol, catechin and myricetin were isolated from in vivo (leaf  root) vitro callus of this species. These compounds are extensively used Ayurvedic preparation medicines highly demand pharmaceutical industries. The present study therefore was undertaken determine compare the production these flavonoids culture parts C. . Quantification data revealed that total flavonoid content (free + bound) higher tissue than parts. maximum amount found six weeks old (1.96mg/g.d.w) minimum (0.28mg/g.d.w) two week tissue. In studies showed leaf free form (0.58mg/g.d.w.) bound (0.48mg/g.d.w.) when compared root (0.19mg/g.d.w) (0.11mg/g.d.w). Keywords: , Callus culture,
