摘要: The de Haas-van Alphen oscillations in the magnetic susceptibility of pyrolytic graphite (PG) have been observed for first time and a comparison made with those single-crystal (SCG). These preliminary measurements were performed at temperatures between 1.2° 4.2°K fields, H 0, up to 55 kG applied along c-axis. usual beat pattern1 attributed majority electron hole carriers was found be identical PG SCG 1.5 20 kG. This equality frequencies, f M, effective masses, m*, is significant establishing band parameters, because most complete parameter determination2 has by combining magneto-reflection data Shubnikov-de Haas on SCG.3 Low-temperature also yield local order that SCG. Furthermore, unusually low frequency discovered Soule4 confirmed observation both existence such M shown consistent existing structure calculations.
