Removal of Cationic Dye from Aqueous Solutions by Modified Acid - Treated Pomegranate Peels (PUNICA GRANATUM): Equilibrium and Kinetic Studies

摘要: In present research, a novel attempt was undertaken to evaluate the effect of various acid – treatments on adsorption performance pomegranate peels towards methyl green (MG) dye. The prepared adsorbents were characterized using FTIR, SEM, and BET measurements. A series experiments conducted in batch system assess variables, i.e. solution pH, temperature, ionic strength contact time capacity. Maximum taken place at pH 5.5 while equilibrium achieved 75 min. Equilibrium isotherms analysed by Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, Dubinin Radushkevich isotherm equations. data fitted very well Langmuir Isotherm maximum capacity reached 29 mg g -1 303K. kinetics found follow pseudo second order rate kinetic model. Thermodynamic parameters also evaluated revealed that process is spontaneous endothermic nature.
