摘要: We report the preparation of lignin-based rigid polyurethane (RPU) foams from surface functionalized kraft lignin via a simple and environmentally benign process. Lignin was with polyisocyanate at 80 °C for 1 h, resulting lignin-polyisocyanate prepolymer confirmed by increased viscosity Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The RPU containing up to 30% as substitute petroleum-based polyols exhibited comparable thermal mechanical properties conventional foams. prepared functionalization outperformed without functionalization, showing 47% 45% higher specific compressive strength modulus, respectively, 40% substitution ratio. Thermal insulation temperature-stability two types were comparable. results indicate that increases reactivity homogeneity building block in life cycle assessment shows process would have overall lesser environmental impacts when compared traditional manufacturing synthetic polyols. These findings suggest potential use sustainable core material replacement materials.
