摘要: To provide population data on levels of plasma cholesterol, triglyceride, and high- low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C LDL-C) in black adults, 627 aged 20 to 59 years, 206 men 421 women, were studied the Cincinnati Lipid Research Clinic's Princeton School Study. Comparisons made with 2,493 white 1,111 1,382 from Black had total cholesterol that comparable those whites; higher than women. lower triglycerides, HDL-C levels, LDL-C men. women not taking exogenous sex steroid hormones triglyceride hormones. slightly These differences only require use race-specific lipoprotein distribution tables for characterization individual subjects, but are consistent putatively reduced risk coronary heart disease blacks when compared whites.
