Rock Matrix and Fracture Analysis of Flow in Western Tight Gas Sands

摘要: Advanced core analysis includes measurements on the matrix properties of rock. Matrix are important even in fractured wells since it is these which determine rate gas flow into fractures. Cores being tested from fluvial, coastal, and paludal zones Mesaverde. At least two cores each all three will be analyzed. Properties measured include permeability as a function confining pressure over range 500 to 5000 psi. A minimum Klinkenberg permeabilities determined at five data points. Interpretation estimates pore size slippage. Water adsorption desorption isotherms for selected samples with points obtained following relative humidities: 0, 20, 40, 60, 75, 90, 92, 95 98.
