摘要: We report a novel silk-gold nanocomposite based nerve conduit successfully tested in neurotmesis grade sciatic injury model rats over period of eighteen months. The was fabricated by adsorbing gold nanoparticles onto silk fibres and transforming them into sheet electrospinning which is finally given tubular structure rolling on stainless steel mandrel chosen diameter. conduits were found to promote adhesion proliferation Schwann cells vitro did not elicit any toxic or immunogenic responses vivo. also for the first time, monitoring muscular regeneration post implantation recording motor unit potentials (MUPs) through needle electromyogram. Pre-seeding with enhanced myelination regenerated tissue. Histo-morphometric electrophysiological studies proved that pre-seeded performed best terms structural functional severed nerves. near normal values conduction velocity (50 m/sec), compound muscle action potential (29.7 mV) (133 μV) exhibited animals implanted cell loaded present study are superior those observed previous reports synthetic materials as well collagen conduits. Animals this group able perform complex locomotory activities like stretching jumping excellent function index (SFI) led life.
