摘要: The Baixada Maranhense Microregion currently has the highest prevalence of schistosomiasis in State of Maranhao, likely because this parasitosis is characterized as an occupational disease, and increased contact with water increases the risk infection by Schistosoma mansoni. This paper reports results fi rst comprehensive freshwater malacological survey performed Microregion. Methods: Freshwater mollusks were collected from twenty-one municipalities Bacurituba Cajapio evaluated for by trematodes. Results: A total 9,129 (sixteen species), which included records six species in the Maranhao: Gundlachia radiata, G. ticaga, Hebetancylus moricandi, Plesiophysa guadeloupensis, Pomacea bridgesii diffusa Omalonyx sp. Biomphalaria glabrata was found ve municipalities, whereas B. straminea nine. Biomphalaria observed syntopy Pinheiro Sao Bento. Of 990 specimens B. glabrata 2,109 that exposed to and/or analyzed presence larval trematodes, only a single specimen (0.1%) Bento shed S. mansoni . Other trematodes in mollusks Maranhao. Conclusions: These indicate study area epidemiologically important due to two natural vectors schistosomi.
