摘要: Metabolic strokes are a notable feature associated with acute catabolic crises in patients propionic acidemia. Despite their importance, these events not well characterized. Here, we present the clinical history of patient acidemia who developed 5 episodes hemiparesis between 3 and 11 years age. The finding 4 were shorted lived (2-5 days). Neuroimaging showed signal changes basal ganglia manifesting many following initial episode. Two accompanied by definite seizures. Based on factors, hemiparetic most consistent metabolic strokes, though what is distinctive that occurred without evidence decompensation; brain magnetic resonance imaging findings suggestive setting. We framework for evaluating suspected stroke acidemia, light sometimes perplexing heterogeneity underlining events.
