摘要: Abstract As a common starting point for the interpretation of SnowMicroPenetrometer (SMP) data penetration force is interpreted as superposition spatially uncorrelated ruptures structural elements which follow an ideal elastic–brittle response. We re-state this idea and describe fluctuating Poisson shot noise process. This allows us to derive simple analytical expressions cumulants covariance in terms micromechanical, force-displacement parameters individual elements. Vice versa, micromechanical can be estimated from statistics force. test our method with simulated processes real snow profiles reveal potential limitations underlying assumptions. Our model unifies different previous approaches classification are based on resistance.
