Chemical Effects of Photonuclear Reactions in the Propyl Bromides

摘要: Two new photonuclear reactions are reported, Br79(γ,2n)Br77 and Br79(γ,3n)Br76.The organic retention following the Br81(γ,n)Br80m reaction in liquid n‐ isopropyl bromides was found to be 47 36%, respectively, appreciably higher than reported values Br79(n,γ)Br80m reaction. Higher retentions were also noted for irradiations of solid bromides. The relative yields individual products determined both many respects striking agreement with data from activation by (n,γ) isomeric transition. In n‐propyl bromide (γ,n) (γ,3n) gave same ratio parent compound total yield.Data on scavenger effect show that thermal recombination occur solid.
