摘要: Madagascar’s highly diverse forests are critically threatened because of increasing deforestation, and those that remain facing declines vertebrate frugivores disperse their seeds. Thus, understanding plant - frugivore interactions is critical importance for the conservation maintenance diversity in Madagascar. This paper reviews observational experimental studies multifaceted aspects seed dispersal by vertebrates across Madagascar including relative different vectors, patterns deposition, post fate dispersed also aims to lay a foundation future discussing understudied crucial role on populations communities Malagasy forests. Such perspectives important given threats dispersers, low richness assemblages strong reliance many species dispersal. Understanding this ecosystem service can provide us insights colonization, community structure, demography invasion, as well forest restoration regeneration.
