摘要: Farmers' conservation decisions are central to addressing regional environmental challenges, such as biodiversity loss, water quality impairment, or climate change. However, three decades of substantial investment in agri-environmental programs has not yielded widespread adoption improved outcomes. It remains difficult explain why farmers adopt despite an extensive body research on the topic. One possible reason for this is that researchers limiting types metrics they analyzing farmer decisions. We systematically and critically evaluated social science literature address important gaps: (1) How studies measuring effectiveness? (2) do integrate individual perspectives into broader institutional (i.e., governance) contexts? (3) What most prevalent uses characterize human-natural system? coded 174 found only 10% connect outcomes undertake longitudinal research, while dominant approach excludes contexts which situated. The focus demographics, financial technical capacity adopt, economic motivations. lack attention both limits researchers' ability analyze effectiveness CP adoption. To advance our understanding adoption, we recommend future measure track how knowledge about feeds back perceptions norms towards Research should also consistently mediate acceptability Lastly, can be widely incorporated coupled systems will synthesis efforts better practices.
