摘要: We recorded from single neurons in the hippocampus and entorhinal cortex (EC) of rats to investigate role these structures navigation memory representation. Our results revealed two novel phenomena: first, many cells CA1 EC fired at significantly different rates when animal was same position depending on where had come or it going. Second, deep layers EC, targets hippocampal outputs, appeared represent similarities between locations spatially distinct trajectories through environment. findings suggest that represents animal's context a trajectory space regularities across could allow for generalization experiences.
