Synthesis, crystal structure, thermal decomposition, and XPS studies of homo and heterotrinuclear Cu(II)–Cu(II)–Cu(II) and Cu(II)–Ni(II)–Cu(II) complexes obtained from salpn type ligands

摘要: In this study, a mononuclear CuL complex was prepared by the use of bis-N,N′-(salicylidene)-1, 3-propanediamine (LH2) and Cu2+ ion. NiCl2 NiBr2 salt were treated with in dioxanewater medium two new complexes [(CuL)2NiCl2(H2O)2] [(CuL)2NiBr2(H2O)2)] Cu(II)–Ni(II)–Cu(II) nucleus structure obtained. addition to bis-N,N′-(2-hydroxybenzyl)-1,3-diaminopropane (LHH2) reduction LH2 NaBH4 MeOH medium. The treatment reduced ion resulted [(CuLH)2CuCl2] Cu(II)–Cu(II)–Cu(II). characterized elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric X-ray diffraction methods. crystal structures [(CuL)2NiBr2(H2O)2] (СIF file CCDC 1448402) 1448401) elucidated. It found that halogen ions are coordinated terminal which distorted square pyramid coordination sphere. determined central Cu(II), joins pyramidal only phenolic oxygens ligand while Ni(II) organic water molecules. These investigated XPS it different Cu(II)–Cu(II)–Cu(II) complex. Also, thermal degradation CuLH unit observed exothermic contrast expectations.
