Implant-retained mandibular overdentures versus conventional dentures: 10 years of care and aftercare.

摘要: Purpose: This 10-year prospective, randomized, clinical trial investigated the treatment outcome of edentulous patients treated with mandibular overdentures retained by 2 endosseous implants compared conventional dentures in or without vestibuloplasty. Materials and Methods: One hundred fifty-one (5 groups) a symphyseal bone height between 8 25 mm participated. Sixty-two were an overdenture (groups 1 3), 59 denture 5), 30 after preprosthetic vestibuloplasty (group 4). Patients who received but preferred later on could undergo implant surgery year their initial treatment, analyzed original group.
