Implant-retained mandibular overdentures versus conventional dentures: 10 years of care and aftercare.

摘要: Purpose: This 10-year prospective, randomized, clinical trial investigated the treatment outcome of edentulous patients treated with mandibular overdentures retained by 2 endosseous implants compared conventional dentures in or without vestibuloplasty. Materials and Methods: One hundred fifty-one (5 groups) a symphyseal bone height between 8 25 mm participated. Sixty-two were an overdenture (groups 1 3), 59 denture 5), 30 after preprosthetic vestibuloplasty (group 4). Patients who received but preferred later on could undergo implant surgery year their initial treatment, analyzed original group. The prosthetic surgical care aftercare scored during evaluation period. Results: thirty-three completed follow-up evaluations.
