摘要: While the scope of self-regulation ranges from microscopic analyses neuro-cognitive structures to macroscopic and culture, individual researchers typically focus only on topics relevant their desired level analysis. As a result, literature tends be fragmented by topic age. This chapter attempts integrate diverse approaches while emphasizing importance an action-theoretical perspective. We present organizing heuristic, grounded in action-theory, that unifies research across multiple levels Our heuristic identifies core developmental features change during every stage integrates life span. discuss as product larger cognitive-affect processing system (e.g., Mischel & Ayduk, 2004) develops based experience environment pervaded cultural influences is contingent development underlying structure. Keywords: self-regulation; self-control; inhibition; action theory; cognitive-affective
