摘要: Abstract Air pollution is a major threat to the health of inhabitants most large cities in world including Delhi, second populated city. Delhi with 25 million people among polluted. Meteorology as well increasing anthropogenic emissions play important roles Delhi's reduced air quality. Winter marked by thick fog, low wind speeds, and boundary layer heights that worsen In such an environment, this study monitored PM2.5, PM10, NOX (NO), CO, O3. To improve quality, Government implemented Odd-Even (OE) Scheme based on license plate numbers reduce traffic emissions. The improvements quality were not obvious due variability meteorological conditions during period. Measured concentrations compared Pre-OE, During-OE, Post-OE periods only limited number statistically significant differences observed when all three 24-hour or hourly bases. Passenger cars represented small fraction on-road exceptions granted for many vehicles. For duration trial, variations dispersion drove much period-to-period variability. effect vehicle removal strategy was unobservable.
