摘要: Barrett’s esophagus is the only known precursor that predisposes patients to development of esophageal adenocarcinoma. The current recommended surveillance method targeted biopsies any abnormalities followed by random four-quadrant every 2 cm using standard white light endoscopy. Compliance with this and sampling error are two biggest problems. Several novel imaging technologies have been developed aid diagnosis early neoplasia in esophagus. There emerging data some these new modalities can increase yield detecting dysplasia. This review will discuss present available techniques including chromoendoscopy, narrow-band imaging, autofluorescence optical coherence tomography, confocal endomicroscopy endocytoscopy.
