摘要: Abstract Lyme disease is one of the most prevalent and fastest growing vector-borne bacterial illnesses in United States, with over 25,000 new confirmed cases every year. Humans contract bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi through bite tick Ixodes scapularis. The can receive from a variety small mammal bird species, but white-footed mouse Peromyscus leucopus primary reservoir northeastern especially near human settlement. tick’s life cycle behavior depend greatly on season, different stages biting at times. Reducing infection tick-mouse may lower incidence some areas. However, research effects various mouse-targeted interventions limited. One particularly promising method involves administering vaccine pellets to mice special bait boxes. In this study, we develop analyze mathematical model consisting system nonlinear difference equations understand complex transmission dynamics vector demographics both populations. We evaluate what extent vaccination affect I. scapularis, under which conditions saves money preventing disease. find that, areas high risk, eliminate mouse-tick B. while saving money.
